The Nemorence is the moving, everpresent web of Life Force, moving through all living things and animating us all. It is an unseen world, existing in our world, but as a dimensional layer underneath it, its foundation. Some suggest it goes beyond “life” and actually includes all energy flow, the ocean and currents of all of the energy in the universe. It weaves together all lives and energy, as threads, into the complex tapestry of the changing universe. The life energy that flows through all things, is formally called “Nemore”. Nemore is the ‘blood’, with the Nemorence being the veins and framework of the realm. The Common people refer to the Nemorence as The Great Green Grove. Helke refers to it as such to Lyv. The Great Green Grove is its name for most non-scholars throughout the world.

The Nemorence itself resembles a vast open grove of trees, made of glowing blue-green tinted light. The trees are arteries full of Nemore, a vast network distributing Nemore in many offshoots and directions, with tributaries delivering and exchanging them at every scale. The Nemorence is a dimension existing simultaneously with, laid directly underneath our own, composed of the energy flowing within all living and energy-filled things.

Radiating outward from the Nemorence/ Great Green Grove, are thick currents, which branch off in countless fractals, becoming thinner, and reaching all throughout the world. These Grove Currents cycle life energy throughout the world, giving and taking where needed. They balance Aldwer, ensuring that energy is cycled, allowing life to flourish, and exchanging energy. These currents are all interconnected and feed from the Great Green Grove itself, always shifting, but deep below ground, in the center of Aldwer. A Grove Fount is a point where a Current naturally flows near the surface of the earth, Aldwer’s crust. At a Grove Fount, life is more vibrant, more biodiverse, and more lush. It may not be immediately outwardly noticeable, but you feel the difference; the Fount is disseminating Life Energy, Nemore, from the running Current it is coming from.

Aldwer

the world of Aldwer

Aldwer is a world filled with lush, wild, natural beauty.

Aldwer and its People

The People of Aldwer, all across the world, do not realize that they used to live in harmony with nature. It was once a beautiful, arcadian place. They are told stories that they are visitors, occupiers here on Aldwer, rather than from Aldwer. Peldrim Dominion tells them that the world was created for them. They believe this, despite not having left the large continent of Hemdwer. Aldwer’s environments are hostile, violent, and dangerous. Aspiring travelers will die of exposure, menacing flora, tempest like storms, colliding mountains, tsunamis, whipping winds, daggers of raining ice, floods, and more. It is unknown how large the world of Aldwer is, as it has been difficult and dangerous to traverse Hemdwer, let alone leave the continent. When it is revealed that the people are from Aldwer, a part of Aldwer, rather than extraterrestrial colonizers and occupiers, it is a huge bombshell, with huge implications. It inherently changes their relationship to the world, and all of the propaganda that they have been led to believe. This common belief, that people were placed here, has led to a culture of human vs nature. The predominant thought is that nature must be subjugated or avoided: since PDominion rise to power, people have gotten their food from the Dominion, their clothing from the Dominion, their homes are industrial boxes.

For this reason, the world feels young, though it is far from it. Places where PDominion has been are suffering, usually from one of the following things: environmental is becoming inert (dead), poisonous, hostile to travelers, there is food scarcity, extreme weather.

Much of Aldwer has not been explored by contemporary people. This was not always the case. Has the Nemorence made travel in Aldwer hostile? There are pockets of advanced civilizations, but the world has become aggressive, violent and harsh to humanity, to the point that most people cannot travel without likely death. Once, all of Aldwer was peaceful, lush, and abundant. Then it became scarred, poisoned, and depleted by the actions of humans (particularly Peldrim empire and their kind). Then Aldwer portioned off itself, human settlement’s scattered and divided, some isolating themselves from Peldrim’s influence, and fighting back. In turn, over the past couple of decades humans have grown to fear nature, and believe that it is their enemy. The only safety is within their designated, devoid of life settlements, usually under PDominion control.

Lyv and the Grovegardes eventually return the world of Aldwer to an ecological regenerative state. They help people to evolve to be in tune with nature. The people of Aldwer, the link to the natural world has been severed, thanks to Peldrim Dominion and Hallowed Reach. It is the reason that the people in Bowerbury have no connection to the forests that surround their community. Let alone understand the reason for the name of the town. And instead, live in an industrial wasteland. Everything there is nauseating, hot, and oppressive and dry. And the people don't know how to work the land. They eat capsules that are prepared for them from PDominion.

And the only place that is an alternative to this is the outpost of Snuggly Thicket, outside of the empire of Idyllwode, which has people who are in tune with the natural world, and animals, plants and humans working alongside each other for a better community. Russum, of Idyllwode, is among the people who have been studying this, and helping broker peace and understanding between the people of Idyllwode and the natural world.

There are issues and Peldrim Dominion is slowly making its way in. By offering things like capsules and glittery things. So they say ease of work and convenience and a fancy lifestyle with lots of material things, and they are slowly convincing many people of Idyllwode to abandon their ways, in favor of the ways of Peldrim Dominion.

Ramblemire and SpeVore are two other examples of communities that have been destroyed by Hallowed Reach and Peldrim Dominion. Their people suffer from lack of housing and work in Spevore. It is poverty, pollution, and sickness in Ramblemire. The people had a connection with their environment, but it's been so polluted that they don't, that they can't rely on it anymore, and it's making them sick. Another example of them being severed, rather than the cause of the pollution and environmental devastation, they are the victims in civil war. There are many people who came from other regions that have been ecologically and economically destroyed by Peldrim Dominion's actions, and they all concentrate in SpeVore, for now, because the world of Aldwer has been so ravished and attacked populations of wild life forms are crashing and the world of Aldwer has become a brutal hostile place, which makes travel between regions, very difficult. Nature is fighting back.

Like the people of Ramblemire, other small groups of people that Helke has spent considerable time in, several isolated communities, are showing various animal adaptations, depending on where they live. Likewise, the people of Idyllwode have grown significant fungal characteristics after Russum’s centuries-long tenure there since he became a conduit of the Nemorence.

There is a continent called Felthenus to the east of Hemdwer, off the coast of Deep Verdare and across the Brumous Expanse, little is known about it...travel there has proven difficult to survive, those that have survived have had to return before discovering much more than a few isles.
